Beery VMI Assessment

The Test of Visual Motor Integration (Beery and Buktenica, 2004) tests the individual’s ability to use vision in combination with motor skills and a brief assessment of effective and functional visual perception.

Visual motor integration –the copying of graded shapes and designs with accuracy, requiring understanding of spatial elements of shape and ability to plan.

Visual perception –the ability to discriminate between similar shapes and use spatial skills to problem solve. Motor coordination – the ability to draw shapes with a high degree of accuracy.
